Tune in Tuesday (83) - Road Trip Edition!

Tune in Tuesday is a weekly music feature originally hosted by the fabulous Ginger at GReads. However, for the time being, Katelyn of Kate's Tales of Books and Bands will be hosting. As some of you may know, I am ridiculously addicted to music. One of my favorite things to do is share the music I enjoy. Each week we'll be posting some of our favorites to spread the love of music. So link up and join the fun!

It's April! Guess what that means, music folks? It's Road Trip Edition on Tune in Tuesday! I am kind of known for absolutely HAVING to make playlists for trips. Sometimes they're full of songs that I'm currently obsessed with. Sometimes the songs have to do with what I'm traveling to or who I'm traveling with. Sometimes it's just a bunch of random songs that I like to sing to at the top of my lungs! Regardless, I love me some mix tapes.

For this first edition of Tune in Tuesday, I thought I'd share... the LA Road Trip mix! This mix was made back in February of 2012 in honor of traveling to LA to attend a book signing event with my sister. What event was this? Oh, just Breathless Reads Tour with Jessica Spotswood, Marie Lu, Andrea Cremer and Beth Revis! My sister and I had both read Across the Universe before this and loved it to bits. When we found out Beth was going to be on tour close-ish (we live in Phoenix), we simply had to go. Before the event, my sister even read Legend by Marie and Nightshade by Andrea. I was in the middle of Legend and had already finished A Million Suns. Neither of us have read Born Wicked by Jessica, but that sure didn't stop up from buying it and getting it signed, too! Anyway, the event was at a cute little bookstore called Once Upon a Time. I LOVE this bookstore. If I lived in the area, it would be my bookstore of choice. Here are the pics we were able to grab.

Jessica making a cutesy face at Andrea
Marie, Jessica & Beth totally focused...

The next day we even went back to the bookstore to wander around without the crowd. Whilst there, we found a new friend!

We found a cute puppet, Snaily! Looks great with my green sweater!

It was super cozy (Man! We really were crammed in like sardines!) and we had heaps of laughs. We even got swag and cupcakes! Fun! Anyway, in honor of this event and the impending 5 hour drive, I wanted to make a playlist. Some of the songs were inspired by Across the Universe, whilst the rest were pretty much songs that are fun to sing aloud and rock out to. So here's my road trip mix! I hope ya'll enjoy. Happy listening!

There are three songs missing from this Spotify list... I have no idea why. It took me forever to try to get this list to work at all! Grr... I'll stick with Grooveshark next time. The missing tracks are:

Track 2: Send Me on My Way by Rusted Root

Track 3: Starlight by Muse

This is still my go-to Across the Universe song!

Track 13: Good Girl, Bad Boy by Junior Senior
