Tune in Tuesday (58): Avalanche City

Tune in Tuesday is a weekly music feature originally hosted by the fabulous Ginger at GReads. However, for the time being, Katelyn of Kate's Tales of Books and Bands will be hosting. As some of you may know, I am ridiculously addicted to music. One of my favorite things to do is share the music I enjoy. Each week we'll be posting some of our favorites to spread the love of music. So link up and join the fun!

Have you ever listened to a song and felt as though it described you in that very moment? Well, this is my moment.

I've decided I seriously like this group. A lot. This song has kind of rooted itself in my mind and heart... I can't seem to shake it. If you really listen to the lyrics, I think you'll fall in love with it, too!

Tada! Tune in Tuesday is back! That was quick, eh? Hee hee. It seems as though Katelyn will be taking over for Ginger until the time when she is able to host again. Pretty sweet, yeah? We're going to have so much fun! Now I don't have to be all sad about the lack of Tune in Tuesdays. This is such a good thing. So... after my one week break, here's my pick!

Back to the Books Giveaway Hop Winner!

The second annual Back to the Books Giveaway Hop has come to an end. I am so pleased with the response to this giveaway! Again, I have some fantastic reads to add to my TBR pile, thanks to all your fabulous comments. I also had a blast seeing what everyone got to read in school. Sometimes school reads are torture, but there are some that remind you why reading is so magical. I wanted to thank our hosts, I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and Buried in Books for their dedication and work to make this giveaway possible. I also wanted to thank all of those who visited my stop on the Hop. I s'pose it's about that time... time to announce the winner!

The winner of the Back to the Books Giveaway Hop is...

Repeat Review: "I Capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
Reading Level: Young Adult
Paperback: 343 pages
Publisher: St Martin's Press
Release Date: 1998 March 15 (first published in 1948)
Source: Personal Collection
Buy the book: Amazon/Book Depository

I Capture the Castle tells the story of seventeen-year-old Cassandra and her family, who live in not-so-genteel poverty in a ramshackle old English castle. Here she strives, over a six-month period, first in a sixpenny book, then in a shilling book, and, finally, in a splendid two-guinea book, to hone her writing skills. And it is within these pages that she candidly chronicles her encounters with the estate's new, young, and handsome American landlords, the effects of her sister Rose's marital ambitions, her writer's-blocked father's anguished and ultimately renewed creativity, and her own hopeless, first descent into love.

By the time she pens her final entry, she has "captured the castle" - and the heart of the reader - in one of literature's most enchanting entertainments.
