Tune in Tuesday (85) - Road Trip Edition!


Tune in Tuesday is a weekly music feature originally hosted by the fabulous Ginger at GReads. However, for the time being, Katelyn of Kate's Tales of Books and Bands will be hosting. As some of you may know, I am ridiculously addicted to music. One of my favorite things to do is share the music I enjoy. Each week we'll be posting some of our favorites to spread the love of music. So link up and join the fun!

Another week of Road Trip Edition! For this week, I thought I'd share a few of my slightly unusual, unconventional, non-traditional road trip songs. Sometimes a road trip needs songs that are kind of slow, kind of old or just kind of... well, you'll see.


I really love singing to this... a lot. It might not be your typical road trip song, but I really love it!


Dream a Little Dream of Me by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

I love me some Ella and Louis, you guys. I put this one a few road trip mixes because it's classic and I freakin' love singing it. I adore old music... have since I first heard Billie when I was around six or seven.



This is one that has popped up a lot in the middle of my mixes... simply because it makes me laugh. Bwahaha!


Deeds Not Words by Dropkick Murphys


Hee hee... gotta show a little of my roots! My sister and I seriously bounce around like loons in the car when we listen to this album. Plus, pipes. PIPES! The end.

    I love old songs too! One of my faces to sing to is Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man by Ella Fitzgerald.

    I went to a Dropkick concert last year. There was lots of bouncing....and slamming lol

    All of these songs are made of awesome! This is my first time hearing The Pieces and I am really liking them so far! Ella is an absolute classic! As for the Dropkick Murphys, I LOVE the pipes in it! My family uses big occasions to use bagpipes, like funerals and weddings (with the latter being the better option!) and I love them so much! Bagpipes have such a cool sound to them and mixed with that punk rock music makes it even more awesome!

    Love all of these picks! I was just listening to the Ella/Louis "Our Love Is Here to Stay" the other day. I enjoy several of Relient K's songs, even though they are more than 10 seconds long. ;) The Dropkick Murphys always get my Irish up. And I totally dig "Boy in a Rock 'n' Roll Band," although I'd never heard of it before!

    My pick for this week.
