Tune in Tuesday (64): The Classic Crime

Tune in Tuesday is a weekly music feature originally hosted by the fabulous Ginger at GReads. However, for the time being, Katelyn of Kate's Tales of Books and Bands will be hosting. As some of you may know, I am ridiculously addicted to music. One of my favorite things to do is share the music I enjoy. Each week we'll be posting some of our favorites to spread the love of music. So link up and join the fun!

One of the joys of living in the Pacific Northwest is the amazing music scene. Seriously. Seattle is the birthplace of so many amazing musicians and groups, it's hard to keep track! One Seattle band I fell in love with whilst going to college at Washington State was The Classic Crime. Their song Who Needs Air, from the album Albatross, is simply phenomenal and I immediately fell in love with it. Then came their Acoustic Ep: Seattle Sessions. You simply HAVE to listen to the song Seattle... it's stellar. A few more albums later and we come to their most recent magnificent release, Phoenix. I kid you not, this is The Classic Crime in peak form. SO! Since I've been missing WA, I thought I'd celebrate the awesomeness that it produces by sharing just a few of the amazing tracks from this new album. Happy listening!

Painted Dreams

This song was immediately my favorite of the album! I have it stuck in my head ALL THE TIME, I kid you not. It really kind of reminds me of how wide eyed and ready to take on the world I was when I was younger... and to not give up on my dreams. Ya know? Gah! I love this song!

City of Orphans

Goosebumps. Every time! I get goosebumps listening to this song. I don't know exactly what it is, but I simply adore it.

The Precipice

I love the sound of this song! It's truly fantastic. Just one of the many other songs I love on this fantastic album. Sometimes you just have to take a leap, right?!

  1. I lived in Seattle during the beginning of grunge. Nirvana and ally hose groups still played in small venues - no one knew who they were. I'm still kicking myself for not taking advantage and seeing everyone back then.

  2. Oh how I'm jealous of where you live! Michigan has good concerts every now and then but not a whole lot with this type of music! The Classic Crime is so incredibly good :)
